Elba Island
The island of Elba is an island located between the Piombino channel to the east, about 10 kilometers from the coast, the Tyrrhenian Sea to the south and the Corsica channel to the west.
It is the largest of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, and the third largest in Italy (223 km²). Elba, together with the other islands of the archipelago (Pianosa, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri) is part of the national park of the Tuscan Archipelago. A diversity that is unique in the world, precisely because Elba is unique with its geological complexity, an expression of distinct and interconnected environments and geological characters: formations, rocks and minerals that have made up the island for thousands of years. Very good wine of the Elba is the “Ansonica”.
