Elba Island

Elba Island

The island of Elba is an island located between the Piombino channel to the east, about 10 kilometers from the coast, the Tyrrhenian Sea to the south and the Corsica channel to the west.It is the largest of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, and the third largest in Italy (223 km²). Elba, together with the other islands of the archipelago (Pianosa, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri) is part of the national park of the Tuscan Archipelago. A diversity that is unique in the world, precisely because Elba is unique with its geological complexity, an expression of distinct and interconnected environments and geological characters: formations, rocks and minerals that have made up the island for thousands of years. Very good wine of the Elba is the "Ansonica".

Certaldo Tuscany

The medieval village of Certaldo, one of the most evocative of the Tuscan countryside, known and loved by tourists not only for its aesthetic and architectural peculiarity but also for being the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio. Let's start from the area, the Val d’Elsa, where Certaldo is located, halfway between Florence and Siena. House Museum dedicated to the "storyteller" which is located right in the street that bears the name of the fourteenth-century Tuscan writer. Here it is assumed that Boccaccio was born in 1313 and that he still lived and died in this house. Today, in the museum house, it is possible to admire furniture, furnishings and exhibition panels that document the life and writings of the master. Jewel of the museum is the Boccaccio library, a treasure chest of valuable illustrated editions of the Decameron. In the area there are numerous farms that produce excellent Chianti.

Suvereto Tuscany

Suvereto can be reached from the sea, along the Aurelia along the Etruscan Coast and turning inland at Piombino and Venturina. But its culture and traditions are all rural, while the landscape you encounter is already that of the Tuscan hills, albeit with the indelible traces of the Maremma environment, of the unstable and fascinating balance between man and nature.Suvereto is a suggestive medieval village, still today surrounded by walls, a few steps from the Etruscan city of Populonia, in Tuscany.A center with a particularly mild climate, it is situated on the gentle slopes that rise from the valley of the Cornia river towards the metalliferous hills; from these first hills you can see the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Gulf of Follonica and the Island of Elba. Val di Cornia also offers numerous wines produced by local farms.
