The medieval village of Certaldo, one of the most evocative of the Tuscan countryside, known and loved by tourists not only for its aesthetic and architectural peculiarity but also for being the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio. Let's start from the area, the Val d’Elsa, where Certaldo is located, halfway between Florence and Siena. House Museum dedicated to the "storyteller" which is located right in the street that bears the name of the fourteenth-century Tuscan writer. Here it is assumed that Boccaccio was born in 1313 and that he still lived and died in this house. Today, in the museum house, it is possible to admire furniture, furnishings and exhibition panels that document the life and writings of the master. Jewel of the museum is the Boccaccio library, a treasure chest of valuable illustrated editions of the Decameron. In the area there are numerous farms that produce excellent Chianti.
